I used a still from Angel Olsen’s music video for “Lark” as a starting point, distilling the imagery down to a simple 5x5 grid.

I then created four distinct colorways from the original grid, each evoking a different time of day from dawn to night.

To give the print more of the rhythmic quality of water, I picked one colorway and handpainted it, creating a digital print that was printed onto silk organza.
